Being a REALTOR raises a LOT of questions. This blog is designed to answer and give details about the most popular questions.
Question 1: Why did you get into real estate? Short answer: Real estate was something I wanted to get into for many years but had to wait for the right time. Now the detailed answer: I worked in the Human Services field for about 22 years mostly with children, teens, and adults with various special needs. This career taught me how to talk with people at their level- wherever that level may be- and be as relatable as possible. Reading body language, trying to figure out what is being conveyed beyond just written, spoken, or implied but asking questions to ensure that whoever I was working with had their needs met plus felt comfortable with the outcome. Real estate has many parallels. Buyers have the desire to buy but may feel indecisive, therefore being a realtor, I take time to educate clients to help them feel more confident. Sellers usually have specific reasons and just want to get the transaction closed.
Question 2: How did you juggle going from Human Services to Real Estate? Short answer: I have a very supportive husband who is working overtime while I get on my feet. Detailed answer: My husband and I have Reel Property Solutions, LLC that focuses on real estate investing which we started many years ago. We were both working full-time and trying to run this business AND I was studying for my real estate license. We had a Plan of Action. Then the pandemic stepped in. Being a realtor was still in our Plan of Action but took about 1 year longer than we thought. We continued to follow the plan, allow for adjustments, and didn’t rush the process. Everything will happen when it’s supposed to happen.
Question 3: When was the timing right to get your real estate license? Short answer: The idea of real estate happened when I was barely making it paycheck to paycheck, single, and knew I didn’t want to permanently be where I was working and living at the time. I kept brushing away the idea of real estate until I moved to where I currently live. Detailed answer: Being a realtor takes immense inner discipline. I knew I had to learn life and career lessons throughout my Human Services profession. Another aspect of right timing was when I met my husband, one of the first conversations was we both wanted to be in real estate, but we both knew we couldn’t do it on our own. We would self-educate with books, joined networking groups, and then became part of an elite real estate group called Fortune Builders. Here we were taught all aspects of how to be successful real estate investors with rehabbing properties, passive income, taxes, and so many other aspects to think about. Had I gotten my real estate license during a time when I was single and not making much income, I probably would have failed.
Question 4: How did you get your real estate license? Short answer: I studied with The CE Shop. Detailed answer: Always research the best courses for you. I had friends who used The CE Shop for their course work. The biggest perks are The CE Shop has promo codes on their home page of their website and because of this, my courses were 35% off! Also, The CE Shop has real estate courses for all 50 states, continuing education classes, and sends all my information to the Department of Commerce. This was a huge help when starting my journey of being a realtor.
Question 5: Can we meet to talk about real estate? Short answer: YES, ABSOLUTELY! Detailed answer: My husband and I have Reel Property Solutions, LLC which is brokered by eXp Realty. We can talk about how being a realtor will benefit you to buy or sell. Perhaps there’s questions regarding real estate investing with Reel Property Solutions, LLC. There’s a lot we can talk about!
