Ignite: Fortune Builders real estate convention
Happy New Year from us to you!
We are starting 2020 with high energy levels to make this a very successful year for everyone we work with! Last month, Reel Property Solutions, LLC was very fortunate to attend a Fortune Builders real estate convention, also known as Ignite in the Fortune Builders world. This real estate convention had a vast array of classes, big name keynote speakers, countless networking possibilities, and most importantly got us IGNITED for the future!
Keynote speakers! Any type of big-name convention, including a real estate convention, should have keynote speakers. Fortune Builders had 3 of the most inspiring folks!
Robert O’Neill: AMERICAN HERO! This man was part of the Navy Seals Team 6 and Robert was the person who shot Osama bin Laden. Again, to reiterate: AMERICAN HERO! Robert talked about the importance of working as a team to accomplish tasks. Another main point was the discipline needed to achieve goals, be humble, and whatever situation arises to be glad tomorrow is another day to make it all better. Afterwards, we had a few minutes to talk candidly with Robert O’Neill. Personally, here’s my thoughts: Robert, if you are looking for a second career, you would be great at writing corny jokes!
Diana Nyad: This lady had a dream to swim from Cuba to Key West, Florida. Yes, you read this correctly! Several attempts failed, but eventually when Diana was 64 years old, that achievement happened! Listening to Diana talk about the DISCIPLINE for training went beyond just swimming; she needed the mental discipline to say yes, I can do this plus the right nutrients in a diet to help her be physically strong. 
Personally, Diana, you should be a stand-up comedian! I laughed and laughed the night away while listening to you!
Earvin “Magic” Johnson: Basketball legend, business franchise owner, real estate investor, husband and family man. 
To say the least, Magic’s dreams are as big as he is! Magic had the most interactive of all the speakers at the real estate convention. Here is a list that Magic had us write down and what he elaborated on:
- SWOT: strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threat of your business
- Know your customers
- Over deliver to your customers, clients, partners, etc.
- Be disciplined
- Get mentors
- What do you want your brand to stand for?
- What is your exit strategy?
There is one word these keynote speakers have in common: DISCIPLINE! According to www.dictionary.com discipline is both a noun and a verb, therefore, several definitions (not all are listed):
Noun:
- training to act in accordance with rules; drill: military discipline. (Robert O’Neill did this repeatedly)
- activity, exercise, or a regimen that develops or improves a skill; training: (Diana Nyad’s regimented swim training)
- behavior in accord with rules of conduct; behavior and order maintained by training and control. (Magic Johnson had to follow the rules of basketball to succeed and then become a high dollar real estate investor.)
- a set or system of rules and regulations (Real Estate in general must follow to be a legal transaction)
Verb:
- to train by instruction and exercise; drill.
- to bring to a state of order and obedience by training and control. (Again, both of these relates to the keynote speakers to become the number one looked at person in their field.)
Looking forward to 2020, the thought of discipline fresh from the real estate convention, Reel Property Solutions, LLC has a game plan. A blog was posted on May 11, 2019 stating the road to obtaining my real estate license– this is in the works! Also, continuing to attend network events in our local market has helped to understand what other real estate investors are doing to be successful. Reel Property Solutions, LLC is also trying to reach out to newbies to collaborate. The Fortune Builders Ignite was an amazing real estate convention! We are excited to go back in December 2020!
